November 13th, 2011When the “Book of EDI Communications Milestones”, is written…..who shall be counted?
November 7th, 2011Now, we shall see the expanded ECGridOS API, the new ECGridAs2 SuperHub, and amazing API extensions Todd will shortly release from beta – we WILL see that the EDI Communication Industry ‘s future will assuredly NOT reside solely in the hands of one or two consolidated incumbents – rather, EDI’s fate will rest in the capable hands of innovators, developers, and entrepreneurs of the new movement called, “Enterprise and Supply Chain 2.0″ !!
Outstanding Post by Todd Gould on the build / buy decision for EDI service providers
November 1st, 2011If one sought to create a web services communications platform on the scale of ECGridOS or ECGrid (it’s interconnection and routing engine), the man years and testing alone would swamp all but the likes of IBM or Oracle. This is but one reason it is easy to answer the question: “Why did IBM buy Sterling after selling its wonderful IE VAN? The answer is obvious, it’s just too difficult to get the interconnects back in place and all tidied up after the customizations and personal relationships and expertise are gone with the wind.
API Extensions, ECGrid technical and feature enhancements
October 13th, 2011Todd posted an update to inform our clients of new extensions to the ECGrid and ECGridOS systems. I am pasting it here in its entirety to save time: Of note -
Is the State of EDI Communications Going Forward or backward?
September 22nd, 2011Is the EDI Communications market evolving?
Oakland Software up’s the game with EDInow: the Eclipse-based Mapper and ESB Run-time Translator with ECGridOS EDI Network Power
September 19th, 2011There is nothing like EDInow, because it inherits the extensible power of Eclipse, the most popular Open Source Language Agnostic IDE, and Runs on the Proven Mulesoft ESB (soon other ESB’s as well).
Who’s Innovating? Who is Doing?
September 11th, 2011Todd and I invite the true believers, network engineers, the ambitious entrepreneurs and emeritus scholars of the B2B messaging world, (in short all who wish to see the sector thrive via technological innovation), to contact us and tell us what you would change, what you would do in cooperation if other, like minded colleagues had your ear? Tell us what kind of technology you would license or share, and how you might envision a dedicated cadre of competitor-colleagues creating a charter for an “Applied Research and Development Consortium”?
What if you could get the tech you needed – by cooperative development or licensing? What if you could influence interVAN issues, like message routing policies, as part of a group of industry advocates, at the regulatory level and beyond. Such a new, dynamic, and action-oriented organization would address some of the the ills of our market, but be more focused on solving the problems of the SME market expansion – what the analyst’s have termed, “the next $30B in EDI and B2B services revenues”.
Well? Call us and become involved with your fellow colleagues and other motivated thinkers in the EDI market. We intend to act.
India, oh EDI India, we get it ! We do.
September 9th, 2011Personally, I have had a fascination with Indian culture since I was a young man. I have worked closely with Indian colleagues and I found their work ethic astounding. I also think that sometimes there can be an amazing synergy between the small tech innovators here in the USA and the powerhouse forces being unloosed in the Indian IT sector, because I participated in this first hand during my tenure at FT R&D in South San Francisco (Hey, Devesh, where are you now, man?).
New Use Cases
July 2nd, 2011The ECGridOS in Action page has a new use case by Dimension Software of Denmark, see how Jesper Cartensen extended Orbis TaskCentre BPM suite with ECGridOS’ powerful EDI network management functionality.
Loren Data Corp and Oakland Software, a Re-Imagining the EDI Service Provider’s Power Tools.
June 6th, 2011We still have strenuous and energetic innovation in the EDI communications industry, way past the entrenched laggards and mergers, past the same old worn out tarnished brands that have occupied and profited in the sector for decades, we have fresh and enthusiastic thought leadership, right here and now, with our partnership with Francis Upton of Oakland Software. I even continue to see sprouts of hope from other small ventures that have the capacity to scale and deliver ‘over the horizon’ , chasm-crossing ecommerce services our EDI market has deserved, (but has been denied) for so long.
