SAAS B2B Platform Product Managers, this your ECGridOS Briefing

Abstract

Be your own VAN? Take back the revenues that are rightfully yours? Control the network according to your needs? Embed EDI Network administrative and user functions within your code? Create completely unique EDI management functions that overturn 20+ years of non-optimal EDI integration nightmares?

All True, all possible when you ditch a dumb EDI pipe, in whatever form, and adopt the intelligent, rational, EDI Network Control Grammar of ECGridOS. Connect everywhere, replace in -house AS2 and FTP servers at a fraction of the operational costs. So, is this a high stakes migration? Not at all. Keep your FTP connections and manage them intelligently with the 90+ Functions of ECGridOS, move to Web Services Parcel management mailbox access as you see fit.

A VAN gives you the ability to upload and download EDI files. You  manage new account creation and suspension via a a support line or a  proprietary web interface. For all types of message monitoring, configuration, interconnections, reports, etc., there is no hope of folding these functions into your code. ECGridOS is your edge – helping you create a better, faster EDI experience for your end-users by cutting traffic costs, and enabling direct provisioning of your client EDI functions. Enhanced EDI functionality alone would differentiate Your Platform from others, while ECGridOS  puts revenue back into your pocket.

Will this tie up between your platform and ECGridOS be transformative? Yes, in the sense of alleviating a central pain point plaguing EDI users. ECGridOS, is a a technology that simply makes EDI  communications transparent. Be your own VAN and control your own network.

This is an informal briefing about Loren Data Corp.

Loren Data was founded in 1987, but really entered into EDI Message Routing services for electronic commerce services providers in 2001, when ECGrid® was cut into full production. Todd, Loren Data Corp’s Founder, started work on the ECGridOS API in 2005 and placed it into full production in 2009, around the time I came aboard.
Things are changing in the EDI industry. (Obviously).

Why are the typical EDI market leaders being caught off guard by “the Cloud”, “Hosted B2B Hubs”, The Revolution”? Agile companies such as SPS Commerce,  Covalentworks, Netsuite, Boomi and others are providing better services on demand. than legacy VANs could ever provide the small and medium business. Many of these SAAS B2B platforms find that Loren Data Corp’s ECGrid® is a superior way to carry multi-tenant EDI traffic. Why?
ECGrid® is  smarter than most VANs,  more controllable, and offers a programmable interface via a Web Services Grammar for EDI Messaging” i.e., a language that allows the creation and ability to control VAN-like functions, such as account creation and suspension, tracking, routing, partner management, and more. From within your code, not by calling a support line. This means you can offer your clients and platform tenants a self service EDI option. You read that correctly. They can click a few boxes from within your application, and get EDI communications services.
ECGridOS, is the Web Services API to ECGrid®, now being deployed by several EDI leaders and rebels hidden within well known B2B services companies – EDI cowboys and cowgirls poised to break out and start their own brand. While we market this infrastructure and break new ground,  we feel that SAAS Platform operators probably understand our value proposition.

Your Next Gen B2B Platform can  offer its own EDI communications services while still pursuing a hub model, as we recently highlighted in the trade press.

ECGrid routes  to over 600,000 Global EDI  addresses. ECGrid is a central super hub with  AS2 and FTP combined with superior account control, at a fraction of the cost of running your own communications racks -
  • You get cross VAN interconnections via the API calls
  • A hub architecture,
  • Wholesale rates across the board
ECGrid® EDI  services and the ECGridOS API services empower your  competitive services  that penetrate the mid market, the SME. These B2B services providers  are often   buyers of other cloud services, making our collaboration with your company complementary.
